Campaign Platform:

  • Continue work on streamlining internal management controls of the tribal government and administration along with educating Council members on their roles and responsibilities including understanding the separation of powers (executive, legislative & judicial)
  • Establish a professional investment committee to contain and streamline the tribal general fund budgeting and expenditures to control balancing the budget and revenues
  • Work towards evaluating the constitution and the guiding principles to better structure tribal governments as a professional business entity
  • Lobby and advocate for improved housing through varies funding by leveraging private funding and sound mortgage lending initiatives
  • Evaluate and resolve the water department’s outstanding infrastructure and funding needs
  • Continue to support and enhance the tribal historic preservation program through continued proactive participation in local, state and federal advisory committees to reinforce government-to-government consultation and sovereignty
  • Continue to advocate for empowerment of the youth and their needs in all areas and to reinforce participation of community events for general socializing that leads the youth in understanding values and principles linked to our traditional/cultural way of life
  • Strengthen all communication and dialogue with institutions such as  Health Services, BIA, ZPSD and other local school and with local enterprises and businesses
  • Help with the development of new initiatives in economic development such as tourism, new avenues for the artisans and with the completion of  the Visitor Center with established timelines for all such initiatives
  • Continue with providing a tribal government progress report quarterly, to ensure consistent communication with the community with scheduled general meetings
  • Continue being proactive by serving and chairing tribal executive meetings and with other organizations and institutions which I currently hold membership in
  • Most importantly, to fulfill my role and responsibilities as an elected official, as I have done the past two consecutive terms for the Zuni people and community
